Wars and Peace - A Weekend in Shakespeare Country

We have just completed our long weekend in Shakespeare Country.  We stayed in the delightful Arden Hotel in Stratford upon Avon - a perfect base for our visits to the Royal Shakespeare Company and some wonderful National Trust properties in the Warwickshire countryside.

We were thrilled to watch both "Love's Labour's Lost" and "Love's Labour's Won" at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.  The productions were set before and after World War One, and provided a fascinating pairing of two of Shakespeare's most witty comedies.

Our visits included private talks and tours of Coughton Court, Baddesley Clinton, Charlecote Park and Shakespeare's Schoolroom in the King Edward VI Grammar School. The visits provided a wonderful insight into the history and religious turmoil of Shakespeare's world.

We had a lovely group of 22 guests, and we loved sharing our passion and knowledge of the Bard and his home county.  If you would like to join us on one of future tours, please sign up to our newsletter via the website.
